$1,700 Scholarship for French Horn Players to NYSMF!

Your eyes deceive you not, NYSMF really is offering not one, not just two, but not as many as four, huge scholarships for outstanding young french horn players to attend our great music camp this summer of 2011!

The Gretchen Snedeker Memorial Horn Scholarship was made possible by the immense generosity of her parents, Kathy and Jay, honoring the memory of a marvelous horn player.

Full details are at http://www.nysmf.org/scholarship-gms.html, but here are the basics:
  • Three full-tuition scholarships are available
  • Each scholarship is worth $1,700
  • Winners may attend NYSMF for one full session (2 weeks)
  • Deadline: April 1, 2011
That's less than a month left to get your act together and send in your scholarship application!

You must submit all your materials online to scholarship@nysmf.org, including:
  1. Your online application form
  2. Your $75 Application Fee
  3. Your Teacher Recommendation (may be faxed or emailed at scholarship@nysmf.org)
  4. Your Audition Recordings of the first movement of Mozart's 2nd Horn Concerto, and of a piece of your own choosing (upload both to YouTube or similar video sharing service, and send the link to us)
  5. Your short essay about why you want this scholarship, and your musical goals, dreams, and passions.
Tell all your great horn-playing friends about this wonderful opportunity to play in NYSMF's 50 ensembles and classes, and to be a part of more than 40 concert performances each summer!

See you at NYSMF 2011.
